How to be a Better Meeting Planner
What’s the real purpose of your event?
Just read a succinct but insightful article on MeetingsCanada.com that I’d like to share. The article “What Does Your Meetings Client Really Want?” was written by industry insider Les Selby. Mr. Selby participated in M&IT’s recent IncentiveWorks trade show in Toronto and notes:
In the Executive Perspective session I moderated, it was interesting to hear the executives talk about how they measure the success of their events in so many different ways.
But one thing they all agreed on – an event is really an investment.
Les goes on to say that a great meeting professional is one who takes the time to understand the objectives of the event sponsor. He reminds planners that “Achievement of tangible business results – not holding a meeting – is the objective.” Read the entire article: meetingscanada.com.
