MSC Cruises welcomes first guest in a shell

MSC Cruises has won numerous prestigious awards for their environmental initiatives and eco-friendly ships, and we applaud their commitment to keep our planet green and oceans blue. Still, when I came across this press release from MSC Cruises my initial reaction was..huh?

But I have to admit – I was quickly hooked by the dramatic and heart-warming tale of Isabel, the sea green turtle rescued by Jacques Cousteau 40 years ago.

Read the press release to find out why Isabel took a 2-day Mediterranean cruise onboard MSC’s newest ship -  delighting passengers. Learn how the Italian scientists and MSC Magnifica crew cared for the homesick turtle, and in the process, helped save an endangered species and strike a victory for biodiversity. MSC Cruises’ enthusiastic response to Isabel’s call for help is further proof of the cruise line’s commitment to the environment and their respect for all living creatures.

Oh, and by the way, did you know that 2010 happens to be the International Year of Biodiversity? We send warm wishes across the seas to Isabel and her new mate – may they live happily ever after.
