Why Change Is a Good Thing – Especially for Planners
In 1999, professional planner Gail Davis took a bold step. She left a successful 20 year career at one of the world’s largest corporations, EDS, and launched her own business, a speakers’ bureau – Gail Davis & Associates. And she only had one speaker! Gail wasn’t sure if she wanted to continue managing events or grow a large company. Now a decade later, she represents over 2,200 speakers and clients all over the world.
GAIL’S BLOG - We love Gail’s recent blog about Growth – Gail knows it’s a good thing. She shares insights into her company’s growth, personal growth, and how her own speakers and clients inspire her by challenging themselves to stretch out of their comfort zones and take risks.
And we were happy that Gail mentioned two sales incentive cruises that Landry & Kling had the pleasure of helping her plan and operate during her years with EDS:
I love it when an event planner gains the confidence to suggest something that is outside the parameters of what has been done in the past…and it works! I did it in 1996 when I convinced the chairman of EDS to do our sales incentive event on a cruise ship. He fought me the entire way. I convinced him and it was a huge hit. We did it again in 1997.
