Cruise Industry Movers and Shakers Meet in Miami
Back in December, Harvey Grotsky, Publisher of Corporate & Incentive Travel Magazine, teamed with Jo Kling, CEO of Seasite.com at a Cruise Meetings Roundtable in Miami, where they met with representatives of the major cruise lines and corporate meeting planners.
Seated, left to right: Millicent Evans, Lori Cassidy, Dahlton Bennington, Karyn Altman. Standing, l to r: Bill Dwyer, Elena Rodriguez, Brandon Townsley, Marianne Schmidhofer, Aideen Mulholland, Freddy Muller, Ron Gulaskey, Jo Kling, Harvey Grotsky.
As Harvey explains in his Publisher’s Message in the March issue of Corporate & Incentive Travel, “We rounded up the movers and shakers of the cruise industry to find out how they are gearing up to better serve the group meetings and incentives market.†Harvey goes on to say:
As in the rest of the hospitality business, cost-savings, value-adds and flexibility are the watch words…Now is the time for planners to seize these golden opportunities and reap the benefits of meeting at sea: expanded state-of-the-art meeting facilities, eco-friendly ships, abundant dining options, build-in entertainment and enrichment galore – all designed and customized to meet the business needs of the corporation, to build relationships, engage attendees and fit meeting budgets with money to spare and no surprises at the end of the program.â€
Among the many topics the group discussed were green initiatives, tax deductibility, translating corporate meetings and events to a cruise environment, what planners find most surprising about meetings at sea, cruise ship security measures, and how to create wow experiences on a cruise ship.
