Some folks from Landry & Kling and Seasite recently experienced Silversea’s new 540-passenger luxury ship, Silver Spirit.  And the reviews are in – this ship is gorgeous and sure to be a hit with meeting and event planners! Here are a few of their comments and photos from the inaugural celebration:

• Overall feeling – the ship is “sumptuous”, with quality furnishings and fabrics
• Vicki Fernandez, L&K Account Manager, liked the “glamorous ‘30’s Art Deco-inspired style and warm, sepia-toned colors.” She found the onboard ambiance to be sophisticated, friendly and relaxed – “not stuffy or snooty”
• General consensus: Silver Spirit is probably a better fit for groups rather than a full-ship charter, since the largest show lounge accommodates 380 persons – not the full capacity of ship (540)

• Suites are spacious, with separate sitting area and writing desk. Joyce Landry, CEO of Landry & Kling, especially liked the 2 mirrors that magically convert to flat-screen TVs via remote control.
• Butler service is now included in all suites.
• Stars Supper Club, inspired by Rockefeller Center’s Rainbow Room, features live music and dancing in an intimate nightclub setting – very inviting and romantic!
• Large spa (8,300 sq ft) with 9 treatment rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, gorgeous outdoor relaxation area with whirlpool.

• The popular lobby bar adjacent to reception desk is a great meeting spot – it’s the hub of the ship, similar to the lobby of a deluxe hotel.
• Beautiful teak pool deck area has South Beach resort styling. Joyce liked the comfortable rattan “pod” seating with adjustable shade covers to block the sun.

• Dorothea Stratoudakis, a member of our Seasite team, thought the Hot Rocks Grill concept was very cool (or should we say “hot”). Steaks will be cooked over hot lava rocks – fun idea! This area is outside but under cover and accommodates about 40 guests.  No additional charge, but reservations required.  A group can use this exclusively if arranged in advance.

All agreed that Silver Spirit is a beautiful way to deliver luxury and value. What’s included? All ocean-view suites (85% with private veranda, all with butler service); complimentary beverages (including fine wines, champagne & spirits); onboard gratuities; several dining venues and a variety of entertainment and enrichment options.
