First Impressions: Sailing on the Oasis
This just in from Vicki Fernandez, Landry & Kling Account Manager:
Oasis of the Seas!
First Impressions…OMG! WOW! AMAZING! IT’S HUGE! It’s finally here. It all starts in the terminal. Actually before you get in the terminal, the stevedores welcome each guest and are ready to assist passengers in finding their way. You enter the terminal based on the location of your stateroom. There are at least 3 check-in stations for each deck. The process, if you have your Set & Sail pass printed takes literally 5 minutes. Your picture is taken for the A-pass system at the check-in desk so there’s no waiting at the gangway.
The terminal staff are friendly and seat guests for ease of boarding. Once the ship is cleared boarding begins. Each guest goes through the A-pass in the terminal with multiple A-pass stations available so there’s no waiting.
Then you walk up the gangway, not into some deck filled with staterooms or a holding area, but right onto the Royal Promenade. That’s where the next set of “wows” begin. The Royal Promenade is glorious. All shops elegantly appointed. Multiple locations open to eat. No need to rush to the Windjammer. In fact with so many choices for lunch you don’t have to even see the Windjammer. I had lunch in the Park Café on Central Park. A lovely location with made to order salads, soups and yummy panninis.
Two of my favorite innovations: 1) Using Studio B as a “one stop” point for spa appointments, show tickets, shore excursions, dining reservations. Lines are relatively short. And the process is painless. No need to rush around the ship. 2) The photo gallery. No more hunting down your photos. Each passenger is assigned a “tower” and a folder where all your pictures can easily be found. The number is on the passenger key card which is scanned whenever your picture is taken. Genius!
