Carnival’s New Ship a Planner’s Dream for Meetings & Incentives at Sea

Over the years Carnival Cruise Lines has kept pace with the fast-growing meeting and incentive market with innovative ships and expanded function space. With the recent debut of the Carnival Dream,  planners now have a “fun ship” purpose-built for meetings at sea.

Carnival Dream has taken its multi-functional meeting area to the next level with The Chamber, the ship’s 4,700 square-foot conference center. The Chamber can be used as a single large meeting room or converted into three separate rooms through the use of air walls to accommodate up to 232 attendees.

For larger groups, Carnival Dream’s triple-deck Encore show lounge has built in state-of-the-art AV, production and sound equipment and can accommodates 1,964 people – making this venue the biggest meeting facility on any ship afloat.

With a double-occupancy capacity of 3,646 guests and spanning 1,004 feet in length, Carnival Dream is the cruise line’s largest and longest ship, and Carnival has made maximum use of the vessel’s added size by creating some truly spectacular on-board facilities and features – perfect for mixing business with leisure time.

Among the ship’s highlights especially appealing for groups are Ocean Plaza, an indoor/outdoor café and live music venue featuring a large circular dance floor.  A massive floor-to-ceiling curved glass wall separates the room, creating comfortable seating areas offering magnificent ocean views, as well as full Wi-Fi access.

The Dream’s expansive open-deck area features a tropical, resort-style main pool complete with a Seaside Theatre LED screen; and the first two-level Serenity adults-only retreat with comfortable seating and full bar service. And to keep your attendees relaxed and rejuvenated, the expansive 23,750-square-foot Cloud 9 Spa is Carnival’s most elaborate health and wellness center to date.

Carnival Dream‘s entertainment options are top-notch and – along with meals, meeting space and AV – are included with your cruise. There are a wide variety of shipboard lounges, bars and nightspots, including a new dance club concept offering indoor/outdoor access; most venues can be transformed into meeting and function space for groups.

Carnival Dream offers a variety of different types of accommodations, including the first-ever “cove” balcony staterooms – located closer to the water line – offering beautiful sea views and exceptional value for meting and incentive groups. Adjacent to Carnival Dream’s luxurious Cloud 9 Spa will be 65 spa staterooms and suites which will offer guests a number of exclusive amenities and privileges.

Carnival Dream will begin sailing year-round from Port Canaveral with alternating Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries in December 2009. If you’re looking for a fresh new destination for your meeting or incentive group, this ship just might be your dream come true.
